Marshall Pickard

Bio: Raised as a pastor's son in Crossville, TN, I am now a senior at Lee University in Cleveland, TN. I am working to obtain a Bachelor's of Arts degree in Public Relations with a minor in journalism. Writing has always been my passion, and one day, I hope to do PR for an organization that makes our world a better place to live.

Portfolio: My work samples can be found here. You can follow my blog, The Train of His Robe, here for reflections on spirituality and life.

Experience: I am currently employed at Lee University's Office of First-Year Programs. FYP strives to make the transition from high school to college smooth for incoming freshmen. I spend time in this office coordinating campus wide events, publishing material, designing advertisements, coordinating social media, and communicating with students and faculty. I also serve as the head peer leader of First-Year's Gateway program and mentor a class of freshmen every fall semester.

I also serve as an executive board member of my university's chapter of the Public Relations Student Society of America. While at Lee, I've been apart of three honor socieities and multiple conferences and have displayed leadership skills in various positions, such as Lee Clarion student newspaper copy editor, Student Leadership Council member, Summer Honors resident assitant, teacher's assistant, and more.

Global travel has been very influential in my academic career. I’ve studied photojournalism and digital communication in Costa Rica and Ukraine, and during the spring 2014 semester, I lived and studied in Europe for twelve weeks, based in Cambridge, England.
