For the last four decades, Marta Batmasian has served as the chief operator of Investments Limited alongside her husband, James, whom she met while attending Emerson College in Boston, Massachusetts. She spent only a year at Emerson, though managed to graduate cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in English. She also studied comparative and English literature at Leiden University in the Netherlands. Prior to her time at Emerson, Marta Batmasian graduated from Esayan Lycee as valedictorian and later attended Istanbul’s Robert College, an extension of Columbia University. In addition to her English degrees, she holds a doctor of philosophy in Near Eastern studies from Brandeis University as well as a master’s in business administration.
Mrs. Batmasian holds a number of responsibilities outside of her role at Investments Limited. For the last several years, she has served as a trustee at WXEL, a PBS station. She is also involved with several charitable institutions, including the Tri County Humane Society.
