Born in the jungle of the St. Louis suburbs, Martha has since rented many tiny apartments in Massachussetts, New York, California and Wisconsin. She currently lives with her family in Northwest Denver She also has an imaginary second home on a lake in Northern Michigan.

As an educator, Martha has worked as a history teacher, dean, and consultant and currently works with schools and districts across Colorado helping them engage with the vital challenge of student attendance and engagement. Martha also spends time in the "silly archive" (credit Jack Halberstam) trying to determine truths about history, gender, and sexuality from popular culture. She spends her nights plotting the revolution.

Martha thinks Batman is the best superhero ever and when she wins the lottery she is planning on building her own batcave.
