An innovator with a forward-thinking, data-driven approach to business and marketing, Martin van Blerk is the founder and CEO of the software company Caliber and a member of Namaco, a New Zealand-based digital innovation hub whose members have funded and provided operational support to more than a dozen successful projects. With Namaco, Martin van Blerk strives to accelerate the development and momentum of industry-disrupting business ideas spanning diverse sectors through crucial funding and modern viral marketing strategies.
Martin van Blerk founded Caliber and worked with high-performing talent recruiters and an award-winning software development company to create his company’s integrated applicant tracking system (ATS) with customer relationship management (CRM) capabilities. This advanced ATS is an important tool for recruiters and employers, allowing human resource professionals to more efficiently source and screen candidates, schedule interviews, and track candidate progression via a clean and intuitive user interface.
Also interested in gaming and game development, Martin van Blerk is working on a mid-core 1v1 multiplayer mobile game, which is currently in its soft launch stage with test players in New Zealand and Canada. He previously founded Pixelmon, an emerging platform that is developing the immersive games Hunting Grounds and Battle Arena. Mr. van Blerk created the platform with the goal of developing a global IP giant with a universe encompassing video games, comics, and anime. Pixelmon was acquired by a Singaporean venture studio in 2022 and has since doubled its staff and attracted industry leaders from renowned gaming companies. The platform has also grown its user base to more than 30,000 active players. In February 2024, it received an infusion of $8 million in seed funding.
Outside of his business endeavors, Martin van Blerk is part of the newly-formed initiative Project Saved, which is committed to protecting children in Nepal from human trafficking. He studied business management, marketing, and game development at the University of Waikato and enjoys football and writing in his free time.
