Mary Hiller

An experienced healthcare and information systems professional with a career going back to the 1970s, Mary Hiller has served as executive director of knowledge engineering at MedExpert International since 2000. Mary Hiller’s duties with this Redwood City, California-based company center on developing information systems that drive the healthcare decision-making process using artificial intelligence, expert systems, and human pattern understanding. The result is rapid access to evidence-based knowledge. In addition to helping patients understand the advantages and disadvantages of treatment options using today's knowledge and helping patients and their physicians align their decisions with current results, the results lead to decreased costs for healthcare purchasers by eliminating services that are unnecessary.

Outside of the professional arena, Mary Hiller enjoys spending time with their children, watching their children participate in equestrian competitions, hiking and farming. Her love of horses is also evident in her years of ongoing support for the Vista Center for the Blind and National Center for Equine Facilitated Therapy. Other charitable initiatives supported include Loveall Children Foundation, The Trojan Club, Filoli Historial Preserve, and My New Red Shoes, a nonprofit that provides school clothes and shoes for children who are homeless or from low-income families throughout the San Francisco Bay Area.
