Pursuing a career in physical therapy, Mary Kroebel anticipates graduating in May 2016 with an associate of applied science from the Fitness Specialist Program at Suffolk County Community College. The curriculum will help her develop the ability to improve the physical health and well-being of people in settings ranging from schools to medical facilities. Mary Kroebel has maintained a 4.0 GPA while absorbing a broad array of concepts in the fields of kinesiology, psychology, physiology, and nutrition. Currently, she seeks to complement her academic studies with practical experience working as a physical therapy aide.

For the past several years, Mary Kroebel has helped children and adults with disabilities ride horses as a volunteer instructor at Pal-O-Mine Equestrian Center in Islandia, New York. She previously served for a decade as a class volunteer at Idle Hour Elementary School, where she read stories to students and assisted with various school functions.

An active endurance athlete, Mary Kroebel has competed in duathlons and has run in marathons, 5Ks, and other road races for the past 10 years. She takes part in group runs with both Selden Hills Training and the Greater Long Island Running Club. In her free time, Ms. Kroebel enjoys reading novels by Liane Moriarty, watching New York Yankees games, and bowling.
