I am Glenn Street from Calgary, Canada.

In 1984 a friend of mine decided Calgary’s National Hockey League Team, the Calgary Flames, should have their own mascot as they had just moved into their new building, the Olympic Saddledome. My Friend had been performing as the mascot of the local Football Team.

The Flames accepted his proposal for the creation and management of their new character. Shortly thereafter, he realized he would not be able to do this this on his own so he invited me to join him.

“Harvey the Hound” was launched on February 16th, 1984. Unbeknownst to us, Harvey was the first mascot of the NHL, and one of the first mascots in Pro Sports. Teams would come and play the Flames and inevitably I would receive a call a few days later asking if we could create a character for them.

The number of calls continued to grow, and in 1987 we opened Street Characters. Fast forward 30 Years. We have worked with many Teams in the NFL, NHL, and Major League Baseball. We’ve also worked with many US Based Colleges and Unversities, and the only Continent we don’t have a Client on is Antarctica.

We are somewhat active in the Community. We were recently named Philanthropists of the Year by the Cerebral Palsy Association of Alberta, and I am an “Honorary Life Director” of the Calgary Stampede having been a Volunteer for 30 years, the final 10 as a member of the Stampede’s Board of Directors. During my time on the Board we completely revamped the image of the Stampede as well as embarked on a $750 Million expansion. Over one third of the plan was executed while I was on the Board and the Stampede concluded a $120 Million fundraising campaign just after I stepped off the Board.

I am also extremely active in the Calgary Chapter of the Entrepreneur’s Organization. In March 2016 I Co-Chaired the EO Global Banff University. I’m proud to say our Team knocked it out of the park with Banff being rated as the third best University ever.
