Born and raised in California, at the age of 19 I left San Francisco for the wide-open spaces of Wyoming. And it was in Wyoming where I met my husband, a forestry student working on the Snowy Range National Forest. Two children, six National Forests and many years later, I am now retired from my twenty-year career in healthcare finance and have become a full time headshot and freelance photographer.

The best of all worlds. As a kid in California I burned up a lot of instamatic cameras between the Red Wood Forests, the beaches of Malibu, and shooting friends. In Wyoming I was shooting mountains, horses, cowboys, sunsets, and occasionally a portrait or two. Eventually in college I took my first photo class and I wanted to photograph everything all the time. Everything! But I chose the road most traveled which didn’t include a career with my camera.

As a Healthcare Financial Consultant I spent the last ten years weekend commuting from Cheyenne, WY to various hospitals across the US. LA, Atlanta, Casa Grande, Ashland, Chicago and even Medina, NY to mention a few

Ah, the life of a career consultant. A lot of travel and time alone in other people’s worlds. I was fortunate and spent most of that down time with my camera exploring whenever and wherever I could. Cityscapes, parks, National Parks, monuments, everything and everywhere. And everywhere there were people, people wanting their photographs taken.

I started doing headshots when I’d notice people trying to do selfies. I’d step up, ask them if they wanted help, pose them a little and clip off a few images. People were really happy. I mean REALLY happy with the images and it felt fantastic! I love doing it. But I want to do it right. I want to give people enough time to produce their best images, images that capture their depth, breath, and spark! It’s so incredible when you see a client’s eyes light up and hear them say “Wow!” and you know they’re pleased and proud of themselves deep inside.

The feeling is mutual. I’m excited with my work and I’m committed to giving every client the best images imaginable. Every day.
