Melanie David
New York City
Melanie David has been singing since the age of 5. She is a graduate of The Boston Arts Academy. This accomplished performer has graced the stage of the Legendary Apollo Theatre where she took home an amateur night win.
In 2010 her brother David Martins was murdered in Boston. Devastated by the loss Melanie turned to music as her outlet. She penned the profoundly heartfelt song “One” with her mentor MTV’s Ankh Ra. That same year she was granted the opportunity to travel to England where she would record her debut musical works. She also founded the David Martins Peace Foundation in honor of her brother. The organization centered around saving lives through the arts and education.
To date Melanie David’s credits include TLC’s Long Island Medium, ABC’s The Revolution, Off-Broadway productions such as The Newlyweds and Introducing Harry Warren. She most recently joined the Girl Be Heard collective in NYC were she will debut both music and theatrical pieces against gun violence.
Melanie’s story is one of tragedy and triumph. She refuses to let her brother’s life be in vain and will continue to use her talents to bring awareness to gun violence in our country while sharing her passion for the stage with the world.
