Michael McPhie

Based in Vancouver, Michael McPhie is an established presence in the natural resources sphere who serves as founding partner of Falkirk Environmental Consultants, Ltd. His focus is on helping corporate clients to navigate complex agency relations and regulatory processes, including permitting and environmental science. Michael McPhie’s full-service approach extends to working with indigenous communities and organizations to ensure that infrastructure development projects benefit all involved.

Guiding Curis Resources, Ltd., as CEO from 2000 to 2014, Mr. McPhie oversaw a publicly traded enterprise that pursued a high-profile Arizona copper project. His responsibilities included oversight of marketing, financing, and operations across the United States and Canada, and he was successful in raising more than $90 million in funding. A major milestone was a successful 2011 initial public offering. The company was subsequently acquired by another entity in 2014.

Since 2017, Mr. McPhie’s responsibilities have included serving as chair of the Ridley Terminals, Inc., board. His appointed position with a Federal Crown Corporation also involves oversight of operations of a major Prince Rupert, British Columbia, bulk commodity terminal.
