Michael Pisseri
Social Studies and Intervention Teacher in Fairfield, CT, USA
I am an educator who believes that real progress comes from trust, consistency, and focusing on the process, not just the outcome. I currently work as a Social Studies and Intervention Teacher with New York City Public Schools, and my career has been shaped by years of working closely with students, teachers, and school leaders in public education.
I grew up in Eastchester, New York, in a family that valued hard work, honesty, and independence. I attended public schools my entire life and began working at age 14, experiences that taught me responsibility and perseverance early on. I earned my bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Fairfield University and later completed a Certificate of Advanced Study in Leadership from Sacred Heart University.
One of the most meaningful chapters of my career was serving as principal of Davenport Ridge Elementary School in Stamford, Connecticut. Over several years, I helped lead a school-wide turnaround that resulted in state recognition for academic achievement and a positive school climate. That experience reinforced my belief that sustainable improvement happens through teamwork, reflection, and steady effort.
I am passionate about STEM, lifelong learning, and continuous growth. In 2024, I presented at a national STEM conference at NASA’s Johnson Space Center, an experience that reflected my commitment to curiosity, resilience, and helping students see what’s possible.
