Michelle Murphy
Having been a life-long fitness enthusiast in and out of the gym, Michelle decided to try Power Yoga to supplement her workouts. After practicing Power Vinyasa Yoga for a couple of weeks she was hooked, and yoga quickly became the primary focus of her workout routine. She was introduced to Shakti Vinyasa Yoga Studio and fell in love with the Baptiste Power Vinyasa Yoga style. She embraced the mind, body and spiritual benefits she experienced from practicing Power Yoga. The internal focus and balance she felt while she was on the mat carried over into her everyday life. The freedom and empowerment she experienced motivated her to become a yoga instructor. Michelle has a playful approach to teaching which allows her students the freedom to explore in class, opening them up to new possibilities and encouraging them to reach new heights in their practice. Her goal is to inspire and enrich the lives of her students by assisting them in their yoga journey. She completed her Level 1 Training with Baron Baptiste in Mexico and plans to attend Level 2 training in 2012. She has been influenced by other teachers such as Shiva Rea, Brian Kest, Gregor Singleton, and Rolf Gates and continues to grow her practice by attending ongoing workshops. She has completed Shakti’s Teacher Assisting Program with Lisa Black and is pursuing her 200-hour training certification at Be Luminous Studio.
