Mike Wellbeloved
I was born in Matatiele in June 1989. I grew up with a passion for golf as my grandfather would play twice a week and encourage me to join him as often as i could. My mom, Judy played South African girls U18 and gave up playing golf competitivley when she got married to my dad, Kevin.
In January 2002 i enrolled at Merchiston prep in Pietermaritzburg as a boarder before heading down the road to Maritzburg College in 2003 for 3 years. 2006 i moved to cape Town at the tender age of 16 and did every thing i shouldnt have as if i where a Varsity student already.
The day before the rugby World Cup Final in October 2007 i was struck on the temple by a stray golf ball, i missed out on my Matric Rage that year as i spent to some quality time having a false anurism removed from my head. In 2007 after a lenghty break from the golf course i was accepted to join The Golf School of Excellence in Johannesburg to complete a 3 year Diploma in golf. having the privilage of hitting unlimite dgolf balls on a daily basis was a dream come true and if that wasnt enoughhaving unlimited rounds of golf at the home of the Joburg Open, Royal Johannesburg and Kensington golf club was just incredible and such a privilage. During my three years at the golf academy i achieved one albatross (2 on a par 5) and one hole in one, both at Royal JHB. In 2009 i was selected to represent the Golf school in Philadelphia, USA as a golf coach at The Krinsky summer camp.
In december 2012 i left Joburg after graduating and went to rage for three weeks before working the New years eve promotion in Ballito for the third time. In january 2011 i went back to Johannesburg fresh out of varsity and looking for a job.
May 2012 i was employed by Corporate Golf Solutions in Midrand and my job title was events coordinator for the Audi quattro Cup and i also managed the Vpar live scoring system for the Duke of Edinburgh
