Hi, I’m Miss Red. I’m the Art teacher at Emerald Academy.

About me:

my passions include all different forms of art, traveling to concerts, watching movies, and eating really good food. I have three dogs - one small, one big, and one really big - all certified good boys.

I received my degree from ETSU. Originally, I taught high school ELA but switched to Art and absolutely love it.

This is my 3rd year at EA, and I couldn't imagine teaching anywhere else now.

About my class:

This year, every grade level will be part of at least one showcase. Your scholar will have the opportunity to show off their artwork for the school and community if they choose to participate. This is usually during the school's Black History Month celebration at the end of February, but upper school will have a second showcase TBD.

My main goals for each scholar are to help them improve their artistic skills and to help them gain confidence in themselves and their abilities.

The number one rule in my class is respect. This includes respecting yourself and others by withholding any negative comments and, instead, building each other up and offering constructive ideas.
