Moby Dick

Under the sea

Call me Moby. I decided one stormy night under the depths of the dark sea that I had to read this grand novel written about me to see what all the fuss is about. I was curious dear reader as to why the novel kept using the word white and referring to me as the White Whale. I have a name and I happen to like it very much.

In all seriousness loyal reader, I ask that you do not mock me. If we can please suspend reality for a short period of time we can create a timeline of several important chapters and the usages of the word white. Througout the course of this diary, I will refer to Chapters 28, 36, 41, 42, 59 in linear order as you scroll down my blog to examine the manner in which the word white is a symbol for man's quest to reach the sublime in nature and the intangible phantom of life. Note: I will also refer to myself in third person to distance myself from the character of the White Whale and better relay the manner in which the characters perceive my "whiteness" and the word white in general.
