Our aim is to bring joy to the journey of discovering intriguing, delicious wines by empowering the enthusiast to place the most importance on what they enjoy rather than tastes and trends driven by others.
We are extremely discerning about Montesquieu Wines, choosing to work with small production wines that are from mainly boutique, family-owned, organically-farmed vineyards whose wines reflect distinctive character—unique terroir and local culture.
Our buying and winemaking team includes the renowned winemaker/consultant Stéphane Derenoncourt, winemaker Hélène Mingot, and our Co-founder and President Fonda Hopkins who all bring an incredible wealth of talent and experience to the table. Through our extensive relationships all over the world, we import wines that generally no one else has in the US.
Domestically the wines we craft — always in tiny quantities — come from grapes from blocks we lease on some of the most renowned vineyard sites in Napa and Sonoma, as well as premium juice carefully sourced from top growers.
