Monty Buchanan

Well, I was born in New Hampshire, adopted by a couple with 3 children. My father was in the Air Force so we lived in Texas and Germany before moving to Omaha, Nebraska, where I lived until I graduated from Papillion-LaVista High School. Went to college in Texas and received an MFA in Directing from the University of Oklahoma. On September 11, 1993, I arrived in New York City to begin my adult life. What an exciting time to be young, single and just discovering myself. I did some acting work and also landed a great job at American Express. I met a man who became very special to me. I came out of the closet rather effortlessly. Everyone seemed to already know, except me. We were together for almost 7 years though we were never right for each other. The separation sent me into a troubled period. At the time, I considered this period as the lowest point of my life. I began to self medicate with drugs and gallons of Belvedere Vodka. I did not see the light at the end of tunnel because, little did I know, the tunnelhad no end. The worst was yet to come.....
