“Let us dream of tomorrow where we can truly love from the soul, and know love as the ultimate truth at the heart of all creation. “– Michael Jackson
My philosophy comes from a place of truth, love, and healing. Through my studies as a Music Therapy Major at Berklee, I have had the opportunity to participate in several music therapy sessions at several different sites, including Fletcher Maynard Elementary (a Pre-School Program that provides learning experiences for children ages 3-5 whose special education needs cannot be served at home, preschool programs, or daycare centers), Rogerson House (an assisted living facility offering care for people diagnosed with Alzheimer’s Disease and Dementia) Susan Bailis Assisted Living Facility, and McLean Psychiatric Hospital (a Harvard affiliated hospital ranked as one of the nation’s best hospitals for research and mental health care). The hands-on, multidimensional training has given me a genuine perspective of music therapy’s value and effectiveness.
The multifaceted experiences I have had throughout my personal and professional career are unified through a lens that encompasses an integrative understanding of the human condition. This lens is an extension of my most inner Self, stemming from the seeds of my heart, and it is witin my heart that I am able to learn from every person I come across every day. It Is within my heart that I am able to gain a deeper and more genuine understanding of empathy for those who suffer from psychological and/or physical illness.
Through this lens I envision new and innovative treatment modalities across all healthcare disciplines and scientific research. I live my vision of tomorrow each and every day with the approach of acceptance, understanding, trust, and respect of the people around me today.
