For much of my life, I thought happiness meant having more—more of this, a bigger one of that. But when I turned 42 (16 years ago), I realized I already had everything I needed. That moment taught me the greatest lesson: true happiness is a state of mind.

From then on, I made it my mission to help others and to practice small acts of kindness each day. Thirteen years later, that sense of happiness still grows stronger.

After spending most of my career in Silicon Valley’s high-tech world, I now serve as General Manager and COO of Sterling Caviar—the largest caviar producer in the United States—an unexpected but deeply fulfilling chapter in aquaculture.

Life has a way of guiding us where we’re meant to be. After years of searching for meaning, I’ve found that the meaning of life is to discover what you’re good at, and the purpose of life is to share it with others.
