Bobby Aviles
My name is Bobby Aviles. I'm the Online Technician for New York University. I work under the Department name of the School of Continuing Professional Studies at Distance Learning.
My responsibilities for the Monitoring the Course Online for Distance Learning. I monitor the following: Synchronous, Asynchronous course, help create, modify lessons, syllabus, groups and other related online structures. I would assist by tweaking Windows and Macintosh base computers, allowing students, administrators and faculty members’ access to our online course system.
Our online course systems consist of two parts, Epsilen as an Asynchronous system and Wimba Live Classroom as a Synchronous system. Think of Wimba as WebEx for educators and Epsilen as a mix of technologies on the internet like Facebook, Blogger, Wikipedia and other social network sites.
Throughout my extensive professional career, I always took pride in myself with the sucess of high level of customer service expertise. It is my continuing mission to provide NYU-SCPS: Distance Learning students and administrators with the utmost quality of technical customer service possible. My total background experience equals to a total of 10 plus years that has lead me to my new career based on my previous workplace.
Here are the following companies and titles: Assistant Manager for Duane Reade, Assistant Manager for Godiva Chocolatiers, Technician for Chase Bank and a Technician for the Department of Education of New York City.
I also work currently as a freelance technician which doubles as my hobby. I was introduced to the field of Information Technology thanks to my late brother Edwin Aviles. Let just say he was the reason for my success and strength.
I am hopefully to take full advantage of the opportunities that NYU-SCPS has to offer.
