With over 20 years of experience in agri-food systems and rural development, Nadine Gbossa is currently the director of Food Systems Coordination at the International Fund for Agricultural Development. She also has extensive leadership experience in African food security programs and strategies and a proven track record in community-based programs and brokering transformative public-private sector partnerships.

In her current appointment at IFAD, she leads the financing agenda for food systems transformation in partnership with the World Bank and also co-led development of the first financial tool to keep track of financing going to food systems.

In her previous role as director for the West and Central Africa region at IFAD, she oversaw teams across 24 countries and managed an investment portfolio of about US$4 billion for sustainable agri-food systems including rural development and food security.

Ms. Gbossa has had oversight of several OECD flagship publications for the Global Development Community, including the Global Progress Report on Effective Development Cooperation and the States of Fragility report.

Her expertise includes food systems; international development; international development financing; agricultural and rural development; public-private partnerships; program operations; development loans and grant negotiations; and executive leadership and management.

Ms. Gbossa holds a master’s degree in Politics and International Relations from the “Université Libre de Bruxelles”, Belgique, an MA in Development Studies from the University of Hull, UK, and an MA in Economics and Management for Rural Development from the University of Manchester, UK.
