Chef Nandita Karan is the Executive Chef at The LaLiT Chandigarh and specializes in Indian and Continental cuisines. Chef Nandita's culinary journey began in Patna (Bihar) and her love for food and cooking was developed at an early age in her mother's kitchen.
After graduating from Institute of Hotel Management, Patna, she pursued her passion for cooking by refining her culinary skills with top hospitality brands across the globe. During her professional journey of 20 years, she has worked with leading brands such as Oberoi Rajvilas, Hilton, Grand Hyatt, Sheraton, Carlson Rezidor and The Lalit.
She has also been fortunate to work with celebrity chefs like Jamie Oliver, Peter Kuruvita and Sanjeev Kapoor.
Chef Nandita loves to cook Italian food the most. She likes the simplicity of that cuisine and how only few ingredients can do wonders in your dish.
Her philosophy is alwayslove what you eat and respect food. She loves to experiment with fresh ingredients which are sourced locally. She avoids excessive use of spices which sometimes kill the flavor and original taste of product.
In her remarkable career, Chef Nandita has won over several hearts and accolades through her passion of curating delectable delicacies. Recently she has been the recipient of National Tourism Award for Best Chef (Lady Chef)
