Nathan Broman

An experienced instructor and administrator for English-language programs, Nathan Broman serves as a member of the board of directors and vice principal of the English Department for MeySen Academy in Sendai, Japan. He maintains responsibility for monitoring daily English classes for students attending MeySen’s kindergarten, Premier School, and Friends Club programs. Between the school’s Takamori and Maruyama campuses, Nathan Broman recruits and oversees 80 teachers who provide English instruction to more than 3,000 students.

After graduating from Tamagawa University with a degree in education and certification to teach kindergarten through sixth grade, Mr. Broman began his career at MeySen as an English conversation teacher. He then served as director of the English department, coordinating educational programming for 540 learners in kindergarten classes as well as over 1,000 students from public elementary schools enrolled in MeySen’s after-school courses. Also involved in numerous technological developments at MeySen, Nathan Broman equipped the school with its first color printers and graphics software in the 1980s and, later, established a MeySen video editing studio that utilized the first available non-linear editing technology.

Outside of his work in education, Mr. Broman possesses experience in electrical systems and has designed and built electrical power supplies for vehicles used by nonprofit organizations to deliver services in regions of the developing world. He also holds a US Extra Class Amateur Radio operator’s license and has helped engineer communications devices to aid the work of nonprofits in Cambodia, Thailand, and Mongolia.
