Nekolina Lau

Nekolina Lau is a wife, mother, leader, mentor, coach, communication professional, and author. With a cup of Earl Grey tea (milk included) always at hand, she pours her love, passion, experience, knowledge, and time into creating lasting impacts within her communities.

With nearly two decades in the communication profession, Nekolina has honed her skills across many industries, from banking and tech to government and oil and gas. Over the past ten years, she’s sharpened her focus on internal and executive leader communication, advancing communication strategies that drive business results.

In 2020, IABC recognized Nekolina with the prestigious Gold Quill Best of the Best award for internal communication. She also led ATB Financial's Communication team to Gold Quill success with multiple Gold Quill Awards, including Corporate Communication Team of the Year.

Nekolina thrives on giving back to her communities. For the communication profession, this commitment includes:

• speaking at events and conferences
• participating in mentorship programs,
• evaluating IABC Silver Leaf/Silver Quill and Gold Quill Awards
• From 2021-2023 she served on Global Communication Certification Council (GCCC) Board of Directors and she is
• Currently, Nekolina is IABC Canada West Region's Director of National Awards & Recognition.

In 2024, Nekolina authored her first book Squash Your Bossy Goombas,a book that draws from her rich reservoir of knowledge and offers readers a practical guide to dismantling self-doubt and fostering a life of authentic confidence and achievement. Her writing reflects her expertise and her passion for seeing others excel.
