My name is Nelisiwe Ntombi Mkwanazi. I am a 21 year old student at the University of Johannesburg, South Africa. I am currently in third year, studying Education (Bachelors of Education). The Education Faculty is a professional setting with well established lecturers and fundamental modules, which emphasizes the study of pedagogic.

Ever since I have enrolled with the University, I have been empowered not only by the lecturers but also by the students and the environment. I have learnt a lot about myself and have become a better person that is more knowledgeable and aware of the surroundings. I am taking strides in making my dreams a reality, yet in doing so I have learnt that rejection and disappointments are going to be a part of my learning process however, I have learnt that giving up is not an option.

I am eager to be an inspiration to other young women who come from "a not so great backgrounds" that anything is possible, it may be cliche but it is the truth. The journey of education never ends, and I am willing to go all the way!
