As owner of the Remington Suite Hotel in Shreveport, Louisiana, Newton Dorsett draws on more than 35 years of experience in entrepreneurship. He began his career as president of Marshall Properties and soon expanded into the oil and gas industry as founder of Loutex Production Company, Trinity Service Corporation, and other companies focused on well service and production. Newton Dorsett cultivated these companies until the nature of the local oil and gas market began to change, at which time he turned his attention to joint venture investments and Louisiana real estate.

Mr. Dorsett purchased and renovated the Remington Suite Hotel in Shreveport, Louisiana. Under his leadership, the property has become a luxury hospitality destination and in-demand event venue. He continues to welcome a discerning clientele as well as local nonprofit organizations, to which he provides event space.

An advocate for his community, Newton Dorsett serves on Shreveport's Downtown Development Authority and the Christus Foundation Board. His past service includes the Shreveport Rescue Mission Board, the Biomedical Research Board, and his local Bible study fellowship, which he helped to establish. He, his wife, and his four daughters are all active members of the Broadmoor Baptist Church, where they have taught classes for adults and young people.
