The old cliche is so true when it comes to Nikki's passion for music, from early years participation in late night accoustic sessions with her DAD and his friends...tapping toes to the beat, right on time from before she could walk, being taught the guitar, violin, recorder, drums and even the mouth organ, her Dad’s favourite party piece.. ...music is ingrained in her soul .. buying vinyl from a very early age and even then on an old analogue player setting it up with as many tracks as it would hold and play so she could listen to the music longer withou5t having to changed the record. This was something that grew into an obssession for re-wiring the house with as many speakers as possible into as many rooms as possible, something her Mum never held her back from as she also enjoyed a house full of the latest music too.

Nikki spent many hours on various Club dancefloors lost in the music… so, when the opportunity arose to learn the craft of mixing , it did not take long until Nikki was spinning vinyl all over Scotland and further afield, taken to it with ease..

Over the last 5 years in her career,Nikki has devoted hours to learning everything she can about new soundz, new technology and has also been producing. With the new digital era her CDJ 2000’s and Nexus 900 mixer are her prized possessions…even although she has got the digital software.and controller set-up ..she does not find this as much of a pleasure to play on as either technics or her cdj’s, even better to get the opportunity to play that great Analogue sound of vinyl out as often as she can.

Nikki’s expression of her love of dance music comes in her track selection and excellent ability to progress the mix and introduce vocals just when it seems right, give it more energy when need too..as Nikki says herself “from a listening point of view you want to be taken on a journey and as a dancer you want to move in all sorts of ways, nothing worse than feeling like you have danced the same for ages, I’d personally get bored with that, so I play to how I’d like to be made to dance?
