Nikos Hecht

The namesake of the eight-court Hecht Tennis Center at the University of Pennsylvania (UPenn), Nikos Hecht was the captain of the school's varsity tennis team from 1988 to 1992 and helped lead it to a No. 1 ranking in the Ivy League. Nikos Hecht graduated summa cum laude with a bachelor of science in history and finance, in addition to a second one in economic sciences with a concentration in finance from UPenn’s iconic Wharton School. He was also a Rhodes Scholar semifinalist. Soon after, he moved to New York to begin his career.
After he gained experience in analyst roles with firms like Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette, Nikos Hecht founded Aspen Partners in Colorado in 1996 and managed the hedge fund until 2010. During this time, he earned a reputation as a pioneer in bankruptcy investing and restructuring.
Because of his professional success, Hecht has been able to support a variety of nonprofits and civic organizations in his home area, including the Wounded Warrior Project, the scholarship fund Thanks to Scandinavia, and Aspen TREE. He also donated land to the Aspen Art Museum. He enjoys spending his free time with his three children.
