Norka Martinez was born in Venezuela and began fostering an interest in the arts as a young child. She undertook specialized training in areas that ranged from piano to modern dance to further her dream of becoming a singer and musical performer at the international level. After studying French and business in Paris, Norka Martinez decided to fully commit to her musical career, ultimately making her debut album, Milagro, with famous Cuban-American producer Emilio Estefan. This album featured the single “Like You Do It,” which broke the top 10 on the Tropical Media Base chart.

As her musical career began to take off, Norka Martinez had to overcome serious health complications due to her longtime fight against epilepsy. She now assists others who have epilepsy as the leading force behind the ESPE Foundation. Short for Epilepsy, Sensation, Progress, and Education. The main objective of this non-profit organization is to provide educational programs about the disease and give financial support to families in low-income Hispanic communities throughout the United States.
