Oddy Jay alias Beats by Oddy is a Record Producer, Mix-Mastering Engineer, Entrepreneur and a licensed Attorney.
Oddy Jay is the founder of Studio 9:87 Recordings®, Oddyllelogram® and Barroddy Consult.
It is rumoured that his claim to fame was prior to his emergence as the overall winner in a musical competition in 2007 Tagged; "Possibility is Within".
In 2008, he was featured on Africa's No1 Family Reality TV Show: - "Maltina Dance All" emerging the only Male act that represented Lagos/Nigeria in the Reality Dance Academy after rigorous auditions of over 16,000 participants.
He enrolled at the University of Ilorin for a professional degree in Law and successfully attained Bachelor-of-Laws LL.B. (Hons.) in Common Law.
Thereafter, he attended the Nigerian Law School for the mandatory one-year exercise which entails practical training on legal research and procedure, where he successfully attained the required qualifying certificate and was duly called to the Nigerian Bar to practice as a Barrister and Solicitor of The Supreme Court of Nigeria.
He is presently working on his debut Extended Play Album [EP] titled - “Four [All Written, Produced & Performed by Oddy Jay]".
We believe entertainment flows in his bloodstream. His Dad is a United Kingdom trained Engineer who doubles as a guitarist in his early days, While His mum (a great dancer) led “The Odudu Cultural Exchange Troupe, Ondo State" to represent Nigeria in 1981 at Western berlin, Germany.
Oddy Jay's great-uncle 'Odion Iruoje' was the in-house Producer at EMI behind several notable acts such as King Sunny Ade, Fela Anikulapo Kuti, Bongos ikwue, Lijadu Sisters and several other great performers in the early 70's and 80's. He also played a crucial role in what became a masterpiece by Paul McCartney of The Beatles when he came to work on his grammy winning album "Band on the Run" at EMI's studio in Lagos, Nigeria.
Oddy is the pioneer of Oddyssey Live Concert in collaboration with brilliant team of creatives, a bi-annual event which started in Mid-Western part of Nigeria.
In addition, he thrives as a Creative consultant, Audio Engineering Coach and a lazy Guitarist.
