Oisín Ó hAlmhain
Hospital Pharmacist in Inchicore, Dublin, Ireland
I am a Green activist in Dublin South Central. Father of 3 children, my most recent venture has been to organise a kids climate camp in my home.
My interests also include advocating for cycling in the city (we need more infrastructure and enforcement,) city trees and parks (our tree lined avenues are great, but we need the right trees and we need to look after them) citizen empowerment (everyone should know how to contact the council for what they need, and the council should listen) and our industrial and urban heritage (I want a living city where people have homes instead of so many derelict and vacant buildings)
We are living in a decade where we must take action on our environment to stop runaway climate change and biodiversity loss. I’m working hard in my community to achieve that.
I was the Green Party candidate in the 2011 and 2016 general elections and the 2014 local elections in Dublin South Central and was their health spokespeople from 2011-2016.
I am a hospital pharmacist, and am actively looking at making that sector more sustainable. I also have an MA in healthcare management, which includes a diploma in public service management.
