Katie Moore

In 1998, I was a 19 year old high school drop out with a touch of alcoholism. Through the grace of God and the help of a fellowship of people who shared their experience, I was able to get my life on a better track, though I have been far from perfect.

In 2004, I became an unlikely police recruit. The next ten years were a crazy ride, and included car chases, car crashes, murders, robberies, and administrative battles. In my personal life, I experienced my husband's battle with cancer, our difficult divorce, and his subsequent death from complications. My personal and work life collided as I engaged in a personal relationship with another officer, which resulted in a whole lot of upheaval, and a crazy wonderful daughter.

In 2014, I made the somewhat impulsive decision to end my career with the police department. I began the blog One Sight to document my journey as a single parent through motherhood, college, travel, and ultimately the search for God and meaning.
