Jacob Opara is a lover of challenges; a Mechanical Graduate Engineer, involved in community based corporate initiatives in Kenya to better lives of people through service delivery. With an inspirational style, he has continually nurtured and grown his professional skills in management, field operations, leadership and plant machine maintenance working in different Engineering firms as an attaché and Engineering Trainee. He has his new found love in Renewable Energy, now pursuing a master's program in Renewable Energy (Solar) Alternatives for Developing Economies
He is also a passionate writer alongside his Engineering practice. One of his notable works is among others, the Award Winning Published book called, Life Journeys – Scaling the Heights: A Conversation with High Achieving Men in Kenya where he wrote the biographies of among others, Prof. Mutahi Ngunyi (A political Analyst), Dr. Frank Njenga (A Psychologist), and Dr. Evans Kidero (Current Governor of Nairobi County, Kenya). He currently works with a Ghanaian Firm called Youth Hub Africa as one of their two correspondents in Kenya on vocational basis.
He is the CEO & Co-Founder of MGI Empowerment Center, a Community based NGO in Kenya working to give alternative solutions for sustainable wealth creation among rural communities. We focus on 4 main areas: Computer Literacy, Capacity Building, Sports and Games, and Business and Economy.
He is also the Executive Director of United Science of Africa, A CBO extensively involved in research in energy and best agri-business technologies to better lives of the vulnerable. Currently, USA is working on a major Rural Electrification Program to provide electricity to off-grid rural residents and instigate socio-economic development through job creation, increased investment and job opportunities for locals of Matungu District, Kakamega County, Western Kenya.
Born to incredible Primary School teachers who denied themselves everything to give him a formal education, he has not disappointed; rising through the ladders of academic excellence and now making roots in corporate business, Jacob thinks that there is only one thing that can stop him from leaving a lasting impact wherever he goes, and that is Nothing!
