Executive Managing Director at the Japan Synchrotron Radiation Research Institute (JASRI), headquartered at the SPring-8 campus.
Specializing in photon science, with a particular focus on synchrotron X-ray characterization of interface structures and electronic states, such as those in metal–organic frameworks (MOFs) and functional ultrathin films.
The Scientific Background of the 2025 Nobel Prize in Chemistry cited reference 79, for which I served as one of the two corresponding authors (DOI: 10.1002/anie.200804836).
