Overuse Of Acronyms

Today's over-use of acronyms limits communication and does not truly save time or make you look smarter.

Yes, the purpose of an acronym is to shorten written text or a listeners' comprehension but with tens of thousands acronyms out in the world isn't it time for something more logical.

Even if we know what a "TPS" report is, does it really take that much time to first mention what it means and then refer to it.

For example: "Bob can you please get me the Total Piece of Shit report for the last five years? Please get me the TPS Report on my desk by Monday. Thank you."

Honestly there is minimal benefits to slowing down a listeners' comprehension and thought flow if s/he has to constantly translate the acronym.
