Patra Sims began her music journey as a rapper/singer/songwriter. She was a member of a local band called “Juice” in her hometown of Peoria, Illinois. They performed at various venues across the Midwest singing top 40 hits from Pop, R&B, and Rock genres. She was a ghost writer for a few "A" list industry artists. Not obtaining proper copyrights to her songs taught her a valuable lesson about taking care of music related business. She continued writing and advanced into writing rap songs as rap music evolved. This endeavor took her song writing talent to another level. Patra began rapping instead of singing during the Hip Hop/Rap era. While opening up for “X-Clan” (famous Hip Hop group from Brooklyn, NY) the groups’ manager noticed her rapping skills. Sony Carlson flew her to New York to record and tour with the group “X-Clan”. She would travel back and forth between Illinois and New York on a regular basis recording songs in the Bronx for several years. Patra worked with a number of producers in NY. Her Executive Producer and mentor was Bobby E. Davis, founder of the legendary S.U.R.E. Record Pool located in Bronx, NY. She became their only female artist under “S.U.R.E "Spinners Unlimited Record Enterprise”. This was only fitting to have her as the “only female artist” as her professional rap name was “Female Fresh”. Patra declined the offer to tour with legendary group X-Clan and decided to perform closer to home in order to be close to her children.

In her hometown of Peoria, Illinois, Patra was the first and “only” rap artist to make the front page the newspaper called the “Journal Star”. She was sought out by many promoters in the Midwest and was selected to open up for “A” list artists such as; R-Kelly, MC Breed, Too Short, Scarface, and many more. She continued to travel between NY and IL as much as possible as her clients (nail salon) were very supportive of her career. Patra maintained her business, children, and music career as a single parent.

Patra took on a regular job, as a C-Level Secretary to 18 County Board members of Peoria County “after owning her own business for many years”. She continued to write and encourage her children on in the areas of music. Patra Sims is now CEO of RIMM Global Media Corporation, CEO of her Indie Label, Co-Producer on an upcoming film, featured on a movie soundtrack starring A-list artists, oversees promoters, artist’s management, oversees management of a young stage play company, and curr
