The mission of the Proviso East Class of 2003 Scholarship fund is to empower youth to create better futures for themselves, their families and their community. The recipient of the scholarship will exemplify qualities that are characteristic of a well-rounded student and community member. The scholarship fund committee will host fundraising events to develop and expand relationships with Class of 2003 alum, students, staff and community members. The Proviso East Scholarship Fund will promote social, educational, and professional development among P.E. students while continuing to bring the Proviso Township community together through positive engagement.

Proviso East Pirate Class of 2003 Scholarship Fund Requirements:

· Meet Proviso East’s graduation requirements

· Be a resident of Illinois

· Have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.75 on a 4.0 scale (non-weighted)

· Be enrolling in an U.S Accredited college, university or trade school or submit a business plan proposal mapping your entrepreneurial journey

· A 1 page essay providing an explanation of how you will use the allocated funding to further your dreams, why you feel you are a great candidate for scholarship, and how you plan to be an asset to the Proviso East/Township community going forward.

· 2 Letters of recommendations (1 professional / 1 personal (non-related) or community member)

· Extra Curriculum activity participation(1 minimum)

· Complete a minimum of five hours of community service work in the Proviso Township Community within this current school year
