Patricia Lynette Goddard has a deep and abiding love of books. It was this love that inspired her to start writing. She currently lives in Southwest Minnesota and loves to spend time with family and friends. She is a small town girl at heart and could not be persuaded to live in a city ever again.

Melissa is married to Anthony, Chris is married to Brenda, all are miserable. Anthony rarely comes home before 2:00 AM and is usually drunk and loud.

Neither Anthony or Brenda want to have a real relationship with their spouse but neither do they want to let them go. They both prefer to have their life the way it is, even if it means that Chris and Melissa are miserable.

Chris and Melissa have been attracted to each other for over a year but they do not have any idea of the other's interest. When a "chance meeting" turns into lunch, it becomes impossible to ignore their feelings. But, Anthony and Brenda will not give up that easily. They both set out to destroy the couple in their own way. When Melissa thinks that Chris was only using her, she disappears and leaves her phone behind. Chris is determined to get her back though and will stop at nothing to find her, but he has nothing to go on. Melissa is determined to find a new life and to stay hidden from everyone she once knew. She cannot take any more heartache. She still cries at night for Chris but is determined to get over him.

Will Chris be able to find Melissa? Will she understand when he tells her what happened? Will she forgive him for not telling her everything?
