Palesa Molefe

Johannesburg, Gauteng, South Africa

I am Palesa Molefe and I am currently in my third year studying a Bachelors Degree in Education at the University of Johannesburg. The University of Johannesburg is a very complex university that accommodates different types of students,it is situated near the hub for all students which is Braamfontein.I am currently a voog/mentor in Benjemijn Ladies Residence 2014/2015, this job requires a lot where we need to encourage, support and assist first years to adjust to university life both academically and socially. I believe that I am a hardworking individual who is always willing to go the extra mile in getting the job done. I am a people’s person which means I am easy to work with and always willing to see the positive side of things. I strongly believe in human rights and and equality within society but especially in education within our African continent;it is my civil rights duty to help improve the education system and to give equal opportunity to those that want to learn to participate in their educational path. Education is there to empower us as individuals and to remove stereotypes which were set in the past, it also allows us to become better individuals who make informed decisions and contribute to the growth of our society. My stance of equality and human rights is strongly influenced by family who were in exile and were part of the MK movement; this fueled my interest in African history.
