Mediator, Yoga Instructor, and Student in Nashville, Tennessee

I am a Southern born feminist, originally from Huntsville, Alabama, currently living in Nashville, Tennessee. I am a conflict manager that is a Rule 31 listed civil and family mediator with specialization in Domestic Violence with the Tennessee Supreme Court. I am a 500-RYT (500-hour certified registered yoga teacher) that specializes in yoga therapy.

I am currently working on a Master of Marriage and Family Therapy (MMFT) degree at Trevecca Nazarene University. I plan to combine my education, skills, and experience in conflict management, yoga therapy, non-violent communication, and non-verbal communication into a full-time counseling practice in the near future.

I have an open mind on most things, a soft heart for a genuine smile and a desire to make a difference in my world. As such, I am someone who has a strong interest in my community as well as local, state and national politics. I strive to be well-informed about the climate that we are living in and how to best work to improve all of our lives.

I believe in advocating for our right to have access to healthy food, safe products, and a healthy environment. I believe in educating myself and sharing that knowledge with others. I am constantly researching what is safe, how politics and money affect our food, the products we use as well as our environment. I feel that everyone should have the ability to access these things without discrimination due to their socioeconomic status.

I am always looking for something new to try, a new place to visit, a new person to meet or an experience I have yet to have. Capturing my experiences on film is a habit that I have kept up since a child. I am classically trained in film, but have embraced the digital world and constantly capture the world I see through some sort of lens.

As both a student and teacher of TKV Desikachar/Krishnamacharya Yoga, I find the mind-body-breath and spirit connection instrumental in movement, balance and overall wellness. As a Yoga Therapist, I hope to be able to teach others how integrating this type of work can improve their daily lives by supporting them in achieving the goals they have set for themselves.

Other hobbies of mine include ballroom dancing, swimming and playing the piano. At the moment I am working on becoming more fluent in conversational Spanish, which is fun, challenging and frustrating all at the same time.

I am just a girl in the world, a student of life and a sociologist at heart.
