Hello there! My name is Pam and I’m 15 years old. I started writing two years ago (January 11th, 2011, to be exact) when I was accepted into a poetry anthology for the first time. Nevertheless, I became influenced and inspired by everything more easily soon afterwards as I began to write more and more. Writing came naturally to me. That’s when I found out I had my very own special talent.

Then I joined Allpoetry.com in 2012, and realized my uniqueness in my poetry was through vivid imagery and descriptive vocabulary. I won many contests there and got involved with a lot of writing groups.

On my rainy bus ride, back home from school, I was feeling a bit different than usual. I’m not sure if the rain had anything to do with it, but I started to write another original novel except this time my new story felt more personal and realistic.

I didn’t focus on the word count or tried to use as much strong vocabulary. I wanted to strip away from excess information and just write from the heart like the way I did with my journal.

That’s when my brilliant story came to be. “The Feathered Jasmine of Your Essence,” became something I had never done before, but I could relate to, emotionally. My first realistic fiction got me back on track and as I wrote from the heart and soul and my poetic writing spark came back too.

I feel like writing has changed and saved my life in so many ways. I’ve never been great at expressing my f
