Pat Candaras was born in Brooklyn, New York -- She is the mother of three and the grandmother of two.
Pat is a stand-up comic, writer, storyteller and actor. Her television credits include playing a judge on NBC's Law and Order; performing stand-up on Nick at Nite's Funniest Mom 3 and as a featured storyteller on the storytelling series presented by The Moth on the TRIO network. Pat performed at both the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and the New York International Fringe Festival. In 2007, Pat was presented as one of the NEW FACES OF COMEDY by the Montreal Comedy Festival.
In 2011 Pat was diagnosed with CNS Lymphoma of the Brain – Pat was offered and agreed to enter an ongoing trial of treatment – the protocol included a regime of chemotherapy followed by a stem cell transplant. Tests conducted in 2012 and 2013 indicate Pat emerged ‘disease free’.
