Paul Generale

Based in Dallas County, Paul Generale began his distinguished career in health care administration after graduating from Baylor University and joining CHRISTUS Health’s St. John Hospital in Houston in 1998. At St. John Hospital, he functioned as a project manager and director of finance before being named the chief operating and financial officer in 2002. In this capacity, Paul Generale guided daily operations for a 178-bed acute care facility staffed by more than 1,400 employees.

In 2007, Paul Generale left St. John to accept a position as the system senior director of business and finance at CHRISTUS Health Information Technology in Dallas before leading CHRISTUS St. Vincent Regional Medical Center in Santa Fe as the regional chief financial officer and vice president of the largest health care facility in northern New Mexico. During this time, Mr. Generale gave back to the Santa Fe community as a member of the Children’s Museum Board of Trustees and the local school board.

Since 2016, Paul Generale has led aspects such as financial operations, ambulatory services, and strategy for the entire CHRISTUS Health network. In his position as an executive vice president and chief strategy and network officer, he holds responsibility for areas such as risk finance, acquisitions, and new ventures for the company’s 60 hospitals and 175 clinics across the United States and Latin America.
