I am organised, articulate with excellent interpersonal skills. An enthusiastic, self-motivated individual who always strives to achieve very high standards in whatever is undertaken; I am also reliable and punctual. Hardworking, I am able to work alone or with others in a group. I am honest, trustworthy and try to see things from other people’s points of view.

I believe my journey to where I am today is an interesting one – from being unemployed, lacking in confidence and facing a good deal of uncertainty to the present day - being near completion of my Apprenticeship and becoming Duty Manager at the Hythe Branch.

To begin with I joined the ‘New Deal’ programme through Key Training and took a work-based placement at BHF and Boots - this involved Customer Service, operating the till, care of products, pricing, display, stock control, during this time I obtained the Retail Award.

I was then unemployed –this again was an uncertain time for me and I did feel some of my confidence leaving me once more.

Back on New Deal - YMCA Dover Indoor Market work experience which involved helping with computers and setting them up.

I then went to Iceland Folkestone for work experience. This is where I started to grow in confidence and have the opportunity to make my mark as an employee and a learner and I have developed these skills customer service, operate till, care of products, pricing, display, stock control, chilled delivery handling, delivery handling, grocery, date checking, Stock Counts, layouts, promotions and duty manger as well as running the store on Sunday. Induction Trainer, Talking Shop Rep, handling goods and health and safety. Then the journey to today
