Sculptor, Designer, Teacher, Writer

Short Artist Bio/Statement:

I began using Fimo polymer clay in 1982, having discovered this most fabulous clay at a miniature meeting. My sculpting skills grew as I sold nearly everything made in my home based studio over the next seven years. Also during this time I took college courses in design and color to expand my skill sets.
During this time I taught at several miniature conventions across the country and in local shops until I was hired by United Design Corp of Noble OK in 1989 as a designer/sculptor for their gift ware company.

Here I created designs from ½ inch tall dogs, cats and wildlife to a 28 inch tall garden angel. After 15 years the company was sold and closed.

For fun I began making flexible solid rubber molds for jewelry. The line was licensed by Sweetbrier Studio in 2005 and many of the designs were sold in Hobby Lobby stores.
When Sweetbrier Studio closed their doors the rights to my designs reverted to us. We have been busy making, marketing and shipping molds here in the US and to other countries. I continue to be involved in sculpting for original molds, writing tutorials and teaching.

From 2005, when we started our little hobby mold company Best Flexible Molds from my original sculpts to today we stay busy with our little company whose website is BestFlexibleMolds.com. We currently ship worldwide with dealers in 5 countries.

From beginning with small, round rubber molds we have grown to more than 50 molds in 2 sizes, texture sheets, custom clay tools and silicone putty. Add to that a few extras that clayers and jewelry makers would enjoy we travel in our RV to shows where I teach and demonstrate.
