Persico Contracting & Trucking
Former Contractor in Mount Vernon, NY
Established in 1983, Persico Contracting & Trucking was a construction-services firm based in Mount Vernon, New York. Founders Robert and Richard Persico originally launched the business to provide trucking solutions for the construction industry. It broadened its offerings in 1989 to include site-construction assistance for municipalities throughout the New York State areas of Westchester County and New York City. The company expanded its reach again in 2009 when it became a contractor for Consolidated Edison, Inc., which operates one of the largest energy-delivery systems in the world. This move made Persico Contracting & Trucking one of New York City area's biggest site contractor at the time.
Beyond its professional activities, Persico was committed to giving back to the local community through multiple charitable efforts. This included contributions to the Yonkers Police Benevolent Association, the Yonkers Fire Department, the Mount Vernon police and fire departments, and the Construction Industry Council of Westchester and Hudson Valley, Inc., the last of which is a local construction trade organization with more than 600 business and professional members.
