Peter Setnicker

As an adopted boy from South Korea, I always realized how fortunate I was to be surrounded by people who loved me. It is largely due that circumstance alone, that my life has taken shape in the nature it has. I have always felt the need to return the love I was given to others...

As a result, I have dedicated my entire life to the service of others. From an early age, I toured local nursing homes and retirement centers with the show "Make Someone Smile," a variety act featuring myself and my sister. From that show, grew my love of performing and volunteering.

As I grew older, I began to realize that I could make an entire career out dedicating my life to the service of others, and thus came my passion for education. I believe that through education, I have the power to change the lives of children - and impact their lives in unimangiable ways. In looking for ways to impact their lives, I have become a strong advocate for special needs students, believing that each is capable of some kind of "personal best."

I currently teach in an inner-city school, where I serve the needs of a wide-range of students (from special needs to honors).

In my spare time my interests include: social media, technology, politics, history, religion and of course spending time with my friends and family. I live my life with the belief that no good deed goes unpunished, and dreams DO come true for those who are willing to put forth the effort. In my life, I have seen several of my life long dreams become reality and made many remarkable friends along the way.

My future aspirations are to remain in education, continuing to make a difference in the lives of young people. It is also my hope to author a book about my life experiences, hoping that many can continue to learn and be inspired by my life-story and tales.
