Professionally (and personally, because that’s how I work), I’m an evangelist with the churches of Christ. The churches of Christ are a pre-denominational group striving to simply be the church Jesus built and nothing more. What I do as an evangelist (sometimes called a preacher) includes preaching, doing Bible studies, teaching and training others, community outreach, ministerial counseling, and write (lots, and lots, of writing, much blogging). As an evangelist, I am blessed to be able to work with people of all walks of life, and to be involved with them during some of the happiest and saddest moments of their lives. I find it to be one of the most rewarding works one could have. It’s also one of the coolest, because, I get to work for God.
I am a very multi-faceted person. Along with being an evangelist, I am a guitar player and instructor. I teach students from beginner to fairly advanced in most major styles. As a teacher, I consider it my job to take the student to the point where they do not need me anymore. I consider it success when a student has been taken to the point where they can explore the possibilities of their abilities on their own.
Along my writing as part of my work as an evangelist and apologist, I also write fiction. My interests and writings cover a number of genres. Much of my writings have been in what I call biblical historical fiction. I also am equally at home in the paranormal, fantasy, and science fiction realms. The one thing that sets all my writings apart is that you are not going to find the trash in it that is found in so many books, movies, and television shows today.
I have a great love for the outdoors, good books, gardening, hunting, great movies, traveling, and I really enjoy being in the mountains. I love all the holidays, and I am great supporter of enjoying Thanksgiving the entire month of November. The most important things in my life to me are the Christ, my wife, my family, and my friends.
