Maria Mclean

I currently teach piano in a most innovative way that encourages children to discover their love for the piano by guiding children using positive reinforcement, providing stimulating tools for learning such as computer theory classes, recording CDs of students' performances, monthly group classes, and encouraging students to participate in local and state competitions. I am degreed and certified and have been teaching piano for nearly thirty years. As the Chair for the Mid-Cities Music Teachers' Association Original Composition Contests, I encourage my students to write music and enter their creations in local and state level competitions. As an Honor Roll Teacher with the National Piano Teachers' Guild, students are encouraged to participate in the annual National Piano Playing Auditions sponsored by the American College of Musicians. Students participate in local Piano Festivals, Theory Competitions, as well as relaxed monthly group piano classes where students learn to perform in an encouraging and fun-filled environment. At the Mclean Piano Journey Studio, students learn to improvise, compose and play piano music with joy.
