I am Shirley Smith,President Founder of His Ministries, a nonprofit for the prevention and intervention of substance abuse. I was called to be a fundraiser and yet most times I don’t feel as though I am. I am a counselor and teacher about substance abuse/ addictions. A small group and I operate the Edge Music Venue for youth, a great place for youth to hang, while at the same time it is a student training program offering a small thrift store operated by volunteers and students.

Fundraising should be called Friend-raising. It’s not about money, but all about relationships. That’s why I’m here, sharing a wonderful organization and ministry that loves who we serve, the youth, the forgotten and the least likely.
